The tradition of passing folk tales down through generations is fast disappearing, making it important to capture this wisdom before it was too late.

Producer, Dawinder Bansal and Peter Chand held various workshops and together, they collected some wonderful stories.

As elders recalled the stories they were told as children, their eyes lit up, knowing their voices will live on for future generations to listen and enjoy.

A selection of these stories feature below. Each original recording is accompanied by an English translation.

We would like to give a very big thank you to all participants who made this project possible; Asra Centre Yoga Ladies Group, Sandwell Asian Family Support Service, Wolverhampton Asian and Elder Disabled Group, St Chads Asian Womens Group, Tettenhall Asian Ladies Group.
