Gurdip Kaur – The Three Misers

Once, there were three misers and they all had a story to tell.

The first miser said that “My father bought a 2kg pot of ghee (clarified butter) and we used it for five years.”

The second said, “My father bought a pot of ghee and we used it for seven years.”

The third said, “My father bought a pot of ghee and we used it for ten years.”

The two misers asked “How did your pot last for five years?

The first miser replied, “We only used one spoon of ghee for all our rotis (Indian bread).”

They then asked the second miser, “How did your 2kg pot last for seven years?”

He replied “We would only butter one roti and then use it to butter all the other rotis.”

The third miser was asked, “How did your pot last for ten years?”

He replied, “We used to lift the lid, smell the ghee and put the lid back. And that’s how we made our ghee last for ten years.”
